FBEMC Broadband Coverage Area

To qualify for fiber service from French Broad EMC you must be located within a reasonable distance to our fiber optic backbone. Our network runs through a large portion of our service territories connecting our substations and offices as well as the towns of Hot Springs, Marshall, Mars Hill, Burnsville and Bakersville. We have several radial feeds including connections to the following areas: Laurel, Spring Creek and Ivy Hill in Madison County, Sheperd's Branch Rd. near Weaverville in Buncombe County, and Tipton Hill and Relief in Mitchell County. We also have fiber to every public school in our service territory. To determine if you are close enough to the network for service you will need to contact FBEMC to arrange a site survey so feasibility may be determined. Please see the map below for a detailed illustration of where our fiber is located.
